August 25, 1933: "Under the direction of Melville Still of Mount Shasta a crew of ten men from the Squaw Creek C. C. C. camp are constructing a twenty-six foot tower and lookout house on Little Round Mountain near Montgomery creek." (The Dunsmuir News)
October 26, 1933: "Construction of a lookout house with a 26 foot tower is going ahead on Little Round mountain, near Montgomery Creek. Bert Orbell is foreman in charge of the work. The lookout, which is in the charge of E. Sims, will be closed as soon as the rains fall." (Record Searchlight)
