September 30, 1920: "Tom Gray, one of the Government's forest lookout men, stationed at Ben Lomond, arrived here yesterday. This station has been closed for the season. Tom says he had lots of company this year, as many people visited the high mountain top." (The Plumas Independent)
November 3, 1921: "Thos. Gray has been here the last week enjoying a few days vacation from his summer labors as lookout guard at the Government station at Ben Lomond. Thos. will spend the winter month at Camp Rogers near Belden." (Plumas Independent)
October 12, 1922: "Tom Gray, who has been stationed all summer at the lookout station on Ben Lomond arrived in town a few days ago. His work for the government at this point being over for the season." (Plumas Independent)
