December 13, 1940: "Reference is made to to the request in the California Ranger of November 1 for information relative to Forest employees called to military service this year.
We recently received word that Delmar O. Tilley, lookout-fireman stationed at the High Glade lookout on the Upper Lake District of the Forest, volunteered and was accepted for service to fill Lake County's quota of one man. August 15, 1996: "In the meantime, the fire has broken through fire lines to the northeast and is sweeping out of control toward Cache Creek area, Graff said. The U.S. Forest Service evacuated its High Glade lookout post early today as the fire advanced." (Ukiah Daily Journal)
August 16, 1996: "Flames still threaten some 40 homes along Sam Alley Ridge Road and in Clover Valley on the fire's southern edge. To the northeast, the fire overran the U.S. Forest Service's High Glade lookout station Thursday. The lookout station had been evacuated before the fire arrived." (Ukiah Daily Journal)
