May 16, 1957: "The new lookout on Bowerman's Ridge to serve the dam site area, was manned this week by J.B. Hill and his wife Eva, announced Bob Gray, fire control assistant for the Weaverville district. Located on the ridge above old Minersville, the new lookout was completed early this spring. The Bureau of Reclamation financed the construction with crews from the U.S.F.S. doing the work.
From the lookout a 'birds-eye' view of the Trinity Project dam is possible. Early detection of any fire can be reported to the suppression crews." (Blue Lake Advocate)
