May 9, 1931: "W. H. Williams, who came in from Weaverville two days ago, left Saturday for Dunsmuir, where he will do a little fishing before going back to Trinity county to take his post on top of Granite peak as a forest fire lookout. Granite peak is twelve miles from Minersville." (Courier-Free Press)
June 27, 1931: "Bill Williams returned to Weaverville from his lookout station on Granite Peak. The recent storm brought six inches of snow at his station. Mr. Williams will be on duty again July 1st." (Blue Lake Advocate)
August 29, 1932: "District Ranger St. John and Fireman George Costa are installing a 2000 gallon redwood tank for the Granite Peak lookout, William Williams. School boys of Weaverville will greatly miss this tank because they used it for a swimming tank when it was temporarily set up for testing purposes last week." (Courier-Free Press)
October 31, 1932: "William Williams, Granite Peak lookout, is enjoying a vacation after being on duty all summer." (Courier-Free Press)
June 28, 1941: "Structures thus far discovered to have been damaged include the Granite Peak lookout where windows and shutters were torn loose and the entire building pushed out of plumb by the heavy snows." (Blue Lake Advocate)
November 6, 1943: "Jack DeCordy came off of Granite Peak last week where he has been lookout man for a few weeks. When it started to snow, Jack started for Minerville." (Blue Lake Advocate)
May 31, 1956: "Leroy Eisele is scheduled to be lookout on Granite Peak, and will go there as soon as the trails are open. Eisele, former press photographer with the Richmond Independent, plans to do a series of pictures on the forest. He is also 'freelancing' for Field and Stream." (Blue Lake Advocate)
November 10, 1960: "The Granite Peak lookout on the Trinity Lakes District was brought out by pack train on October 10. FCO, Tyson Hill assisted with this operation." (Blue Lake Advocate)

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 (LSB)
THE STATION IS THE APEX OF THE GRANITE PEAK LOOKOUT HOUSE
WHICH IS A WHITE FRAME STRUCTURE ABOUT 20 FEET SQUARE AT THE
BASE AND APPROXIMATELY 16 FEET IN HEIGHT. THE BUILDING IS
SURROUNDED BY A 3-FOOT CAT WALK AND ENCLOSED WITH WINDOWS.
IT IS THE PROPERTY OF THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE.
THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 13 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF
WEAVERVILLE, ABOUT 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF TRINITY CENTER, ABOUT
6 MILES NORTHWEST OF MINERSVILLE, AND ABOUT 4 MILES NORTH OF
TRINITY ALPS. IT IS ON GRANITE PEAK APPROXIMATELY 150 YARDS
SOUTH OF THE HIGHEST PART OF THE PEAK.
