1951: "Nel Howard's [Offield Lookout] husband acted as an Alternate Lookout, and also as an Emergency Lookout on Medicine Mountain following lightning storms." (Chronological History of the Klamath National Forest, Vol. VI, 1951-1955)
June 25, 1964: "Don Sendek is tank operator at Oak Bottom station. The last two summers he was lookout at Medicine Mountain. Sendek arrived here June 8 from Santa Barbara where he is a sophomore at the University of California." (Blue Lake Advocate)
August 19, 1965: "John Purlee, who has been on Medicine Mountain lookout, is now working with Tom George on trails in the Ukonom District. Purlee is a student at the University of Southern Illinois and spending his summer here in the Forest Service." (Blue Lake Advocate)

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1952 (WRH)
THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 21 MILES AIRLINE SOUTH OF HAPPY
CAMP, 17 MILES AIRLINE NORTHWEST OF SAWYERS BAR, AND 12 MILES
AIRLINE NORTHEAST OF SOMES BAR, ON THE HIGHEST PART OF MEDICINE
MOUNTAIN.
THE LOOKOUT HOUSE IS A STANDARD U.S. FOREST SERVICE SINGLE STORY
LOOKOUT HOUSE THAT IS ABOUT 14 FEET SQUARE AND ABOUT 15 FEET
HIGH. IT IS 145.0 FEET, 44.2 METERS EAST NORTHEAST OF STATION
MEDICINE MTN. THE CENTER OF THE ROOF WAS INTERSECTED.
