PARK RIDGE
Kings Canyon National Park
September 25, 1925: "The Park Ridge Lookout on the Sequoia Forest has been visited by an average of 300 people a month during the present season. Most of the visitors walk up from General Grant Park, bringing their lunches which they sometimes share with the lookout. Being a bachelor and doing his cooking over a camp fire, the lookout does not refuse when he is invited to sit in on a picnic lunch. It is hoped that standard improvements can be provided for the peak soon. The present quarters consist of a tent and crude furniture and we fear that visitors are sometimes disappointed after making the climb from the Park. - F.P.C." (California District News Letter)
