July 1, 1920: "Here is a tip for all Lookout men from Levi Lindsay, stationed on Soldier Mountain. Lindsay purchased a milk goat last year and kept it around the lookout with no expense for maintenance whatever. It gave plenty of fresh milk for the entire season. He has this goat on the Lookout again this year." (California District News Letter)
May 19, 1931: "Gus Thornburg was taken to the lookout station on Soldier mountain last week by Archie Brown. Two pack horses laden with supplies were taken along." (Courier-Free Press)
November 7, 1932: "Harry St. John, who has been in the forest service employ since last May, returned from his lookout station on Soldier mountain last Saturday." (Courier-Free Press)
April 18, 1936: "Mr. and Mrs. Bert Holmes arrived Thursday from Big Bend. They are moving to the lookout station on Soldier mountain, where Holmes is employed for the summer by the forest service." (The Searchlight)
July 16, 1936: "Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fellman and children spent the first two days of this week at the lookout on Soldier mountain relieving Bert Holmes, the regular lookout at that station." (The Searchlight)

(SET IN BEDROCK) TO THE TOP OF THE ROOF.
