December 22, 1930: "State Forester M. B. Pratt, attending the Northern California Fireman's Association which met here yesterday, accepted Colusa County's proposition to establish a fire lookout station in Colusa County to keep tab on this district during the coming seasons, beginning next summer.
The station will be located on one of the peaks known as the 'Three Sisters,' situated near the Mountain House, west of Williams." (The Sacramento Bee)

December 28, 1930: "Colusa county was assured a state fire lookout station by State Forester M.B. Pratt yesterday when State Fire Warden C.D. Wilcher with headquarters in Williams, informed him that a site had been selected and the construction of a suitable roadway to the building had been provided for. The state will furnish the man to assume the duties of lookout." (Oakland Tribune)

May 15, 1931: "The 1931 fire season officially opened in Colusa county today, according to State Ranger C.D. Wilcher of Williams, who was in town, accompanied by his immediate superior, State Forest Inspector E.P. Briggs of Sacramento, who has been assigned to this territory.
The 1931 fire season will be from May 15th to October 31st, Wilcher stated, but the legislature only a few days ago voted to extend the season to December 1st, because this is an exceptionally dry year, said to be the worst in more than two decades." (Colusa Herald)
May 29, 1931: " 'Say, down there, you've got a fire in Colusa. Do you know it?'
That's what O. W. Friedrick, in charge of the forest service lookout recently established on Three Sisters Mountain, west of Williams, told Percy Cooks at the local fire house in a telephone call this morning at 10:30 o'clock. Percy was surprised, to say the least, and informed Mr. Friedrick that he believed he was mistaken and that the smoke was merely that coming from weeds which city employes were burning in the residential part of town, Percy's guess proved to be correct.
But the incident only goes to prove that Mr. Friedrick is on the job and that the lookout on Three Sisters is valuable. The lookout station is connected with the state ranger's office in Williams by telephone and any fires discovered can be reported quickly." (Colusa Herald)
November 2, 1931: "Under the direction of an expert government road man, Fire Warden Charles Wilcher and E.P.
